Why Now?

Why does my mother choose to care now? She's spent my entire life choosing which aspects of my life she chooses to care about, and now she thinks she can change what she cares about and that will be alright. I learned to live with, and deal with, the areas she didnt care about, and fashioned my life around that. Now that Im almost 21, she thinks she can care about all the things I wanted her to care about 10 years ago and everything will be okay. It's not okay. It's too late for her to care. When it came to caring about the things that mattered the most to me, she was nowhere to be found. She says she's going to make me go to counseling, and I'm going to go, but Im not going to talk about the thing she thinks Im going to talk about. I have issues to deal with--I know that. But they aren't the issues she thinks they are. She stopped noticing the real problems a long time ago.

And here I thought Mandy had taste. . .

Of course, when Simon says that Taylor just won AI, they show Mandy Moore excited and clapping vigorously...and here I thought she had taste! Taylor's going to win, but Katharine should. She's got the better voice by far.

Tonight's American Idol

I honestly think the judges have predisposed towards the guys this season as a general rule--particularly Paula and Randy. I gotta tell you, none of the guys have impressed me this season. Several of the girls did, but none of the guys. I've watched faithfully since season three, and there have been guys and girls in each season that I've been impressed with. Of the Idol contestants of the past, I've got Kelly Clarkson's albums, Diana DeGarmo's, Clay Aiken's, Tamayra, Carrie, and Bo. This season, there's not one guy who's album I'd buy. Of the girls, I'd buy Katherine and Lisa. I liked Paris, but I dont know if I'd buy her album. I've never understood what the judges saw in the guys this season to make them sing their praises. The guys were alright, but certainly not deserving of this constant praise the judges have heaped on them from day one. The other thing I've noticed, as compared to last season, is that none of the final three seem like they could be true stars from day one. I thought it was pretty obvious that any of last season's top three could be stars right off the bat. I dont feel that way with this top three, as much as I like Katherine.

This is going to be a long summer

Had my first full day of work today, and at this rate, it's gonna be a long summer. It's the same job I work at during the school year, but Im only working 12 hrs/week then. Now, I'm working 40 hrs/week! Granted, the money will be wonderful. I'll make around $700/two weeks. My mom's going to look into the state rideshare thing, and see if that helps out with the summer, and my commute. It's a pain getting downtown from home, and it's going to get old driving home during rush hour in the afternoon.

Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip

Ive decided Studio 60 will be the new show I watch next season, and at least initially, I'm going to blog it like I did with West Wing the last several weeks. :) It'll be good to still see Bradley Whitford and Timothy Busfield each week. Hopefully the show will do well up against CSI on Thursday nights.

West Wing - Tomorrow (5/14) - THE FINALE

I knew that this day would be coming weeks from now...but now that it's finally here, I dont know what to think. . . Im going to need kleenex tonight, Im sure.

7:00
Here we go . . .Interesting pics of Washington...and now we see Matt. Just staring out the window. JOSH! No Donna? Ah, there we go :) There's Donna. Now for CJ. Will we see Danny? I like CJ's apartment. And there's Will. And The Ball :) Doing what Toby used to do. And now we finally see Jed and Abbey. I've missed Abbey. Actually, it used to be March, but now it's Jan. Oh dang it, Im already getting teary-eyed.
7:07
Yay, more of Helen and Matt. Wonder who will be Matt's "body man." Bram maybe? The nuclear cards thing reminds me that Josh is going to get that NSC card again...let's hope he doesnt have another nutty. Wonder if Donna will get one too as the FLCoS. CHARLIE! Ive always loved Charlie. Awww, Mallory :) So thus far, no pardon for Toby. HUGE Binders! Looks like this meeting is showing us Donna took the FLCoS position. One can only hope. I love Helen. THERE WE GO :) He pardoned Toby. And there's Jed again, and Im starting to cry. Nice handling of that right there Jed. CJ's about to talk about Toby and the pardon...okay, so maybe he hasnt pardoned Toby just yet.
7:19
MALLORY! It's been awhile since we saw Mallory. I bet I know what that present is. I love Debbie Fiderer :) JOSH! Josh making one last stab at getting CJ to stay...That's great, WWLD. Making me cry now. Oh crap, Im crying now. Jed's going to talk with Charlie. That's a wonderful gift from Jed to Charlie. Matt seems a little distracted. So now he's writing the letter to Matt. Here comes the napkin. AWWW! I wanted to see Jed open it. Its an interesting picture, to see Jed struggle so over the pardon. There we go. He signed it.
7:31
I love Matt and Helen, have since the beginning. I've missed Jed and Abbey sparring. I wonder what room that is, that they're standing in. Just 'okay' ? :-P That's a ringing endorsement. I like this moment between Jed and Matt. Matt seems...overwhelmed, and for good reason. Whoa, isnt that salute thing interesting. CJ :) I love that little half-smile CJ does from time to time. LOL I love Helen :)
I dont like this singer singing America the Beautiful. Aww, I was hoping to see Glenn Close. That's not her voice.I've got tears.
7:46
Wonderful picture there with Sam, and Josh. Ronna as the secretary :-P. Ronna is a little shell-shocked I think. The past handing the reins to the future. . . I still wanna see Jed open the package from Mallory. I've missed Jed and Abbey together. Bram isnt paying any attention at all to Charlie. Its so strange watching the characters we know and love leaving The West Wing. And how could CJ possibly leave without visiting the Briefing Room one last time? YIPPEE!! Donna took the job :) NICE office for Donna. I love the awed look on Donna's face. Im crying again. There goes CJ for the last time. Josh - smiling :) Josh looks good as the CoS. Come on Jed, open the package. I wanna see your reaction. And it was the napkin.

A wonderful send off for a wonderful show.

West Wing - The Pilot (5/14)

So they're showing The Pilot tonight.....and then the series finale. I will comment intermittently on the pilot, but the finale will get its own post :-P

6:00
I love the first look we get of each of the characters here. It shows us so much about who each of them is. The only major character we dont meet in the Pilot is Charlie, and thats because he doesnt come on the show for another few episodes. Great shot of Josh sleeping at his desk :-P Here come some GREAT Toby lines. Right there...great line about being able to "flummux" the navigation systems with something he bought at RadioShack :-P There's so much about this episode that I love. Of course, this is the episode where the first of Josh's two "interests" makes an appearance. Though Mandy and Josh never dated within the show's timeline (they dated beforehand), she's still a character I hated :-P

So much for showing cast interviews during commercials . . .

This is a great scene with Leo, Sam, and Josh talking about Lloyd Russell and Mandy :-P Okay, so my attempts at actually blogging this episode arent great, but still. . .

I Swear I live in a family of idiots

So my brother has this really nasty flu bug of some description. He's been real sick since Wednesday night. I gotta tell you, I dont want to get it. As a response to that, I basically barricaded myself in the basement, where he hadnt been, so that I wouldnt get it. I get home from church today TO FIND HIM IN THE BASEMENT! Apparently the dvd player up here wouldn't work. That's all well and good, but did everyone forget how they fixed that problem when he had his wisdom teeth out last fall? They brought down his xbox and played them on that. So now, he's been everywhere byut my room. Is it really too much to ask to not let him simply roam the house, and contaminate it all? *IDIOTS*

Ive been through three years of college, and wow is that huge! It's just really a weird feeling to know that Im a senior in college now.

Which West Wing episode are you?
You are 20 Hours in America!"It's an especially long day for Toby, Josh and Donna, who are stranded in Indiana when the Presidential motorcade leaves without them after a campaign speech. Back in the West Wing, Sam fills in for Josh as the President's "wide-angle lens," and the President again interviews feisty secretarial candidate Debbie Fiderer (Lily Tomlin). Meanwhile, Abbey creates a firestorm when she calls herself "just a wife and mother"; the Qumaris are making noise about their missing Defense Minister; and the Dow keeps dropping."

How Obsessed with 'The West Wing' are You?
That's not being a fan. That's having a fetish. You're pretty darn obsessed. You do realize that Aaron Sorkin makes fun of you, that Bradley Whitford lives in fear on any Web sites you run, and that Martin Sheen wants you to get a life? ~sigh~ Oh, well, at least I know there's more of us if you're reading this ...

West Wing - Institutional Memory (5/7)

Warning: spoiler alert for the finale

7:00

CJ and Danny! They're too cute. I love them to death. I love them together. Hmm, is there any way its really that light outside, that early, that time of year? Why is Margaret trying to get CJ out of the way? Margaret is FUNNY. Oooo. Packing....CJ faced with leaving.
7:06
I love Margaret. Commander Harper! Who's this guy? HEHE! I love CJ. Will Bailey :) I like him now, didn't like him so much when he worked for Russell. LOL this is so funny. CJ is funny. CJ is so cracking me up right now. OOOO the awkwardness of him and Kate. They're an....interesting match. I like this guy :) Oh, I like this job offer. OOOO Big number! That office reminds me of the Santos campaign offices. Wonder if Will's going to run there. Margaret rambling...ooo, awkward conversation coming. Toby alert....toby alert. *cringes* That conversation was so awkward, even though Im well aware that Toby's pardoned in the end.
7:20
lol "He's a little turd?" CHARLIE! Ive missed him. LOL, CJ's CV? *grin* Offering her a job :-P I like the job she's being offered :), but I know before it's been announced. Okay, maybe Will won't do it. :-P Idiot assistant not recognizing CJ. It's so weird for me, as a lover of this show, to see the Bartlet staff packing up. Santos :) CJ getting an offer :) CJ very shocked at Secretary of State. Interesting offer there from Santos. CJ just got steamrolled, and Im laughing my head off.
7:30
CJ's freaking out, probably as a result of the Santos offer. Interesting conversation here. Kate's got a point. CJ, call Toby? hmm. DANNY! He's too cute. Another interesting conversation here...this is probably what will convince him to run. She's convincing him to run. *grins* CJ and Danny again, wonder when she's gonna tell him about the Santos offer. *Cringes* Danny doesnt look too thrilled here. He wants to have "that kind of relationship." GO DANNY! It's about time she got a wake up call. She sees him in the picture eventually, as evidenced by the fact that they end up married. *Shakes head* Silly CJ. Thank goodness I know already that CJ gets her act together.
7:43
CJ just wants to think its a fully day. It's really not. He's gonna pitch it again. Great point there by CJ. I love CJ. He's pitching it again, and... HEHE CJ and Toby :) Way to start out the conversation there CJ. Im using "interesting conversation" a lot tonight. I wanna use it again. Harsh CJ. I like this conversation between Toby and CJ. Yes, you are resisting. This is a reminder as to why I always loved Toby. This conversation would be great fodder to believing the two of them had a "thing" long ago. Aww :) a hug. I bet she's headed to Danny's. He doesnt look exactly pleased, but I cant blame him. Come on CJ! CJ, it's not too late. He's so funny :) I love Danny, always have. He's such a romantic. You could see that coming, CJ not wanting to work at the White House.
Previews for the Series Finale
I dont care about the pilot. I could care less. But the actual episode looks great.

God forbid I have a different opinion than my parents

Seriously, when are my parents going to learn that I have different opinions than them on just about everything, and am now an adult? I'm inclined to believe never, at this rate. Excuse me for having a mind, and being able to think for myself. Heaven forbid I actually have the ability to disagree with them on anything. Sometimes I just want to strangle my parents. And then they wave my choices in my face like just by thinking for myself, I'm automatically wrong. And heaven forbid I actually express my opinions, let alone simply have them. My parents need to get over themselves, they're not perfect. They've been good parents, but they're far from perfect. It'd also be nice if they realized that I'm not my brothers, I dont want to be anything like my brothers, and I'm also not perfect. Oh, and that I simply don't care. I hate how people think the oldest has it best. I'm sorry, but I'd have to disagree. Many times, I've wished I was an only child. That way, nothing to live up to. My brothers are younger than me, and I still feel like I have to live up to their brains and their level of "perfection." Would it kill my family to take an interest in some of the things I care about, instead of maligning them at every turn? I can't begin to count the number of times over the years that my parents have come close to burning several bridges where I'm concerned, simply because they didn't care enough. I wish they'd just care.

OMG!

I'm feeling kinda weird, and absolutely amazing right now. For four years, I lived in a little country named Taiwan (Im sure you've heard the name, it seems like everything's made there these days lol). I had a close friend named Allison Scott. She moved away when we were in third grade, and then I moved. We kept in touch through I think sixth grade, but then lost contact. I've always wanted to find her. Well, tonight, it would appear she found me! I'm registered in facebook through my university, and she wanted to add me as a friend tonight! I'm absolutely amazed! I looked at her profile, and everything looks as I would expect. The picture even looks like what I would think she might look like after so long! Im just so absolutely excited right now, I cant even describe it!
