Blah

I've been in such a funk the last few days. I'm back to feeling like I did in high school. For whatever reason, the whole boyfriend issue is driving me crazy again. It's not like a boyfriend would do me a lot of good right now. I'm graduating in December and I have no plans of staying around here and a long-distance relationship isn't something I want to try for my first boyfriend. However, logic doesn't seem to be working well right now. It's a very good thing that I don't have anything serious due til after Spring Break because I'm the next thing to useless right now when it comes to my schoolwork. Truth be told, I'm back to feeling some of the same things I was feeling before I started seeing the counselor - more of the feeling of just going through the motions. *sigh* It's something I'm going to end up talking to Irene about come our session over spring break. I know I'll need to talk about it, but it means I'll end up crying again.

On another note, I'm very much ready for my brother to leave for Florida with his girlfriend and her family. I may end up going to see the new Adam Sandler movie with my parents on Friday night. It's one I really want to see and surprisingly enough so does my dad at least. I'll enjoy the time to myself in the mornings. It will also be a preview of next semester...

Also, of course my carpal tunnel has flared up and is pissing me off. It flared up back on the 11th (a Sunday). I think I slept on my wrists wrong or they were just protesting being curled, but I've had issues since then. At least this time they're not tingling. That's the worst.

I really should have known better . . .

Honestly, I should have known better than to take four Humanities classes in one semester. Five weeks or so into the semester and I'm drowning in reading and homework. I'd love to be able to not read some of it and do well, but it's all relevant and important. Three of the four classes are actually really interesting, but I'm still drowning in homework. The four classes I have are:

  • PS 417 - The American Judicial System: one of the interesting classes, but a fair amount of work, especially now with an exam on Monday, Oral Arguments on the 5th, only to be followed by starting on the 5-7 page term paper
  • Hist 247 - History of American Business: Another of the interesting classes. I've studied American politics and American history and now I'm looking at how business fits into that picture throughout the history of America.
  • Hist 333 - The Renaissance: This is the less interesting class. The professor makes up an outline for lecture, and then completely doesn't follow it. There is no structure to her lectures and that means I inherently get less out of them. The book she assigned for the class is actually really interesting, but lecture sucks. Thankfully, my only grades are exams where she gives us the possible questions in advance
  • Hist 393 - The Civil War Era, 1848-1877: This is the most interesting of my classes and the most work. The professor is really good and so are the readings he has assigned. There are a lot of assignments that are meant to make sure we're reading, but the assignments add to our understanding of the period, rather than just checking to see if we're reading.

Unfortunately, Im going to spend a majority of this weekend studying, plus I have a lesson to prepare for Primary. Gah! At least it'll be a good weekend to stay inside, with the weather being warm enough to rain, but just cold enough that it could sleet if it wanted to.

Err...Im bored

I'm really really bored. Im sitting on my parents' bed watching my cubbies, and if you can believe it, they're winning! On Friday, we're going in to see a game. We have fantastic seats, and thus will have fantastic pics that I will post sometime over the weekend. In choir today we started an interesting piece of music. With our concerts being over the holidays, our music is mostly Christmas in nature. We started a carol today that will be really pretty, but MAN! It's really going to move when we actually sing it as fast as it's supposed to go.

Boredom, boredom, boredom...

So it's 9:23 PM on a Saturday night. I'm at home (and okay with that), but at the same time bored. There are a few different things I could be doing...getting ready for Primary tomorrow, studying for my midterm next week, read a novel....except that I dont feel like doing any of those things. I'd like to find a wonderful fan fiction to get lost in, but I haven't found one in a little while now. The last one I really got lost in for a LONG time were Abraxan's stories. I've recced them here before, so go check them out. Don't let the length scare you; they're amazing. I spent an entire weekend reading almost non-stop, and then some time through the week before I finished them. Simply amazing!

But now I'm back to being bored and dont know what to do about it. I could go to bed, except that, in being nice to my mom, I volunteered to stay up until my little brother gets home from wherever he is (two hours from now)

Tomorrow afternoon should be nice. My cousin and her husband are coming down to get the rolltop desk we're giving them (we dont use it anymore), and my mom promised to feed them before they made the two hour trek back home. I saw Candi (and no, she's not flaky like the name might imply--she graduated Valedictorian from her H.S.) when she came down for my brother's Eagle Scout ceremony in January, but Brandon had to work. If I remember correctly, they weren't at the family Christmas party either--they were at Brandon's family's house, I think. So it's been awhile since I've seen Brandon.

On Thursday night I rented Walk the Line. Haven't watched it yet, but it's not due back until Tuesday before 10PM. I may sit and watch it before Candi and Brandon arrive tomorrow. Of course, at 7PM tomorrow I'll be watching The West Wing. It's rather depressing to realize that counting tomorrow, there are only 8 Sundays of new West Wing left. As I was looking through the West Wing stuff on tvguide's website, I realized that the first time the show makes me cry will be April 2nd when Annabeth finds Leo. Though, on a better note, I am so totally looking forward to seeing Rob Lowe in the final two episodes. I really hoped he would come back for the end. I've missed him. For those of you that saw the previews at the end of last week's episode will notice that we got a HUGE clue as to who wins the election. When we saw Sam, he's saying "I'm here for the President." First off, he's not saying it to Vinnick. Plus, the area around him doesn't look anything like the area in the White House. It does, however, look like the current Santos for President headquarters in Washington, D.C. :-P Of course, a friend of mine who gets spoilers regularly for the show already told me that yes, Santos wins the election. For anyone that I just ruined it for, I'm sorry, but did you really think Vinnick was going to win? Especially since they can let the show end with one Democractic president replacing another Democrat?

Aright, so it's time for me to go find something to do....wish me luck!
